about

A true story, Cameron is the product of a spontaneous interaction I had with a stranger in New York City who was dealing with drug addiction.

There is a Cameron in each of us. The more we see the potential in ourselves and others, the more we all rise to it.

lyrics

Cameron, I’d like to help you
Do you think I can know more about you
Share with me your life story
‘Cause you know you won’t see me again

There’s this girl I love
She left me dry and made me cry
She’s seeing other guys
I haven’t slept in three days
I shot up last night
For the first time in a long time
I was feeling low
No place to go but down
I’ve been living in construction sites
Metal poles and rusty pipes
I want to lay my head on a pillow

Say do you know
But never mind
I’ll be alright

Cameron, I’d like to help you
Do you think I can know more about you
Share with me your misery
‘Cause you know you won’t see me again

The chemicals in my blood
Cause a rush, a rush of dopamine
But it ain’t me
No it ain’t me
‘Cause all that happiness alludes me
In short and in conclusion
I’m a wreck, I’m a mess
I’m a junkie

Look me up
Send me a postcard
I’m in Southampton, Montauk

Wheels keep spinning
I’m here watching you keel over
I’ve heard that’s a sign
New York City
Hard on pity
But I see the great potential
In your bloodshot eyes
As the sweat drips down your back
On the A track

Cameron, I’d like to thank you
For this song I’ve written
Couldn’t do it without you
Wondering where you’ve been
In the last few days
And if you’re okay
